Ventus and Sky Logistica acquire Europe’s Skyport

Skyport is a leading cargo handler at the Prague Airport in the Czech Republic

Ventus, a US-based infrastructure investment firm and Singapore-based Sky Logistica, recently acquired Skyport, a Prague-based air cargo infrastructure company. Skyport is said to be the leading cargo handler at the Prague Airport in the Czech Republic. It also has operations in Bratislava and Košice in Slovakia.

The cargo handler operates in a facility that is modern and semi-automated. It processes the majority of the air cargo that passes through Prague Airport. The cargo handling facility’s airside that operates in Skyport was acquired by Elite Logistics Fund in link with the acquisition of Skyport by Ventus and Logistica. Ventus, the infrastructure investment and asset management firm, is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 2020 and focuses on investing in robotic industrial infrastructure and air cargo, mainly in Europe and North America.

Andy Popovich, chief executive officer of Ventus, addressed the media and said, “The last twelve months have proved the importance of air cargo infrastructure as a strategic component of global trade.” He further added that he considers the investment in an automated facility and modern operation as the industry’s future and glad to work with their institutional capital partner to further invest in that asset class.

Skyport is said to have a massive potential for growth, and Ventus is focusing on optimising the existing facilities and unlock additional capacity by developing technology to enable operations. Ventus LLC, the infrastructure investment and asset management firm, is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
