Singaporean fintech firm Pand.ai recently unveiled GINA.sg, an English-Chinese bilingual digital insurance Whatsapp chatbot that helps car owners in Singapore to find the most competitive vehicle insurance that fits them the best, according to media reports. The company has partnered with three major insurance companies, namely, Allianz, Etiqa and MSIG, and they are offering digital brokerage services for general insurance under the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) fintech Sandbox program.
Chuang Shin Wee, CEO of Pand.ai told the media, “Traditional online aggregators typically do not provide personalised quotes that are essential for car owners to make purchase decisions, while offline human agents do not have the expediency and convenience that online channels offer. “With GINA.sg, we are proud to partner with Allianz, Etiqa and MSIG to not only enable car owners to receive multiple quotes from different insurance companies in one go, but to do it conveniently using WhatsApp, in a language that they prefer, and even receive up to $200 cash-back for each policy that they buy.”
With the launch of the first bilingual chatbot, the company aims to create a wholesome digital insurance purchase experience for its customers with the help of qualitative and quantitative research processes. In order to do that, the company is collaborating with Singapore Management University (SMU), where the company’s research team will be assisted by Associate Professor Hannah Chang and James Tan, the former CEO of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore (TMLS).
GINA.sg is also the company’s first entry to connect directly with customers. For the last five years, the company has been focused on building AI Chatbots for many financial institutions like Bangkok Bank, CIMB and Schroders, using its proprietary Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies.
