Digi Telecommunications expands fibre-based internet services in Malaysia

The newly launched plan, DIF90 can provide 50 Mbps speed

Digi Telecommunications, Malaysia’s telecom major will expand its fibre-based internet services to 3.7 million households across the country, media reports said. The Digi fibre broadband service was rolled out in July.

It is reported that the company has launched two new plans – DIF90, an entry-level plan which provide 50 Mbps speed to the users, while the DIF 270 plan can give 800Mbps speed. The monthly charges for DIF90 is MYR 90, while DIF 270 will cost MYR 90 a month. The company also offers Digi fibre broadband 130, 190, and 290, where the speeds range between 100 Mbps and 1Gbps.

Digi Telecommunications, told the media, “Customers with a household of two will be charged MYR 250 per month when they sign up and pair the DIF 130 plan (with speeds of 100Mbps) with two high-speed post-paid unlimited mobile lines. They will also have access to 12 months of Viu Premium Access complementary from Digi as part of this unlimited bundle. In total, customers will save around MYR 1,980 over 24 months or MYR 83 per month.”

The customers can save up to MYR 165 per month if they choose to install any fibre plans starting from DIF 130 with Digi post-paid unlimited. Furthermore, the users who install the Digi internet freedom plan can choose the entry-level bundle priced at MYR 128 per month, by pairing the DIF 90 plan with the Digi postpaid 38 plans.

 The fibre-based broadband internet is gaining popularity among the South East Asian nations due the increase in internet users.
