GoJek further diversifies, launches insurance unit GoSure

Gojek is partnering with local insurtech startup PasarPolis to roll out the new service

Indonesia-based ride-hailing giant GoJek has announced the launch of its insurance unit, GoSure.

To roll out the new insurance service, GoJek has partnered with local insurtech startup PasarPolis.

GoSure will cover a wide range of segments such as travel, motor vehicles, and mobile device protection.

Sony Radhityo, head of third-party platform at Gojek told the media, “One of Gojek’s long-term growth strategies from the beginning has been to build partnerships and services that will deliver greater value to consumers. Through the launch of GoSure and partnership with PasarPolis, we seek to provide consumers with better protection and greater peace of mind when they go about their daily lives – all it takes are a few clicks on the Gojek app.”

“The positive response and exponential transaction growth during GoSure’s beta phase affirm our belief that easy access to a variety of insurance products is what consumers want.”

GoJek launched a beta version of its insurance arm, GoSure last year. The beta version offered only travel insurance and to only a selected number of users.

According to media reports, GoSure is the latest product to launch on Gojek’s Third-Party Platform. Currently, the platform provides services like digital donations, ecommerce, news, health, and gaming.

Last month, GoJek announced its partnership with the Trade Desk, a global advertising technology leader, to provide advertisers with insights with regard to the impact their advertising campaigns are having on offline sales. The data will be useful for businesses to improve the efficiency of marketing decisions and also boost business growth.
