Hungary-based carrier Wizz Air plans to hire 4,600 pilots by 2030

The airline also plans to triple the size of the fleet in the next 10 years

Wizz Air, a low-cost European carrier, recently announced that it is planning to recruit 4,600 new pilots by 2030 and triple the size of its fleet in the next ten years, amid huge demands.

The leading low-cost European airline has already trained over 150 additional pilots to surpass pre-Covid capacity this summer and aims to recruit over 300 more by the end of this year. Pilots joining Wizz Air will operate the airline’s Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft on over 800 routes, to 191 destinations in 49 countries.

Currently, Wizz Air operates a fleet of 142 Airbus A320 and A321 aircrafts. Wizz Air also plans to triple its fleet in another 10 years creating a wealth of opportunities for pilots looking for rapid career progression, a competitive salary, industry-leading training and development. Apart from intense pilot training, Wizz Air continues to recruit cabin crew members across its 43 bases to meet its expansion programmes.

This recruitment process also opens up opportunities for experienced captains and first officers, including those who have no flying experience at all. All the necessary training will be provided by the Wizz Air Pilot Academy Programme.
