Saudi Arabia Airlines, also known as Saudia, has signed an agreement with GE Digital, which is a global industrial software company where the two will implement Saudia’s Aviation Software Asset Records solution, according to media reports. The contract also extends the partnership between Saudia and GE for creating better operational efficiencies and cost optimisation.
With the introduction of the implementation of Asset Records, Saudia might enjoy benefits like reduction in records management overhead, time savings for engineering, easier data retrieval, optimisation of the transfer of assets between the airline and others. The airline will also use GE Digital’s Asset Transfer System to streamline and simplify the way leased-asset documentation is managed with lessors along with MRO connect, workflow management, along M and E systems integration.
Additionally, the solutions also include expert professional services for the digitisation of all historical backlogs and help the Saudia team to manage tech record processes and asset transfer packages.
Ahmed Al-Wassiah, chief operations officer at Saudia, told the media, “Saudia places innovation among its top priorities when it comes to aircraft fleet and operations, and with this latest partnership with GE, it enables Saudia to transition to a seamless, all-digital solution for aircraft asset records management.
“With the expansion of the fleet and the airline’s aircraft modernization roadmap, an essential part of the 360 approaches is to have an all-digital interface, providing real-time access to archived aircraft records, facilitating swift access to multiple features, records, and data.”
